The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a large-scale nuclear incident exercise in the city of Schenectady in New York as the public grows concerned about the potential of the eruption of the Third World War.

Knewz.com has learned that the nuclear training exercises are being conducted by the Departments of Defense (DoD), Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), the FBI, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and state and local partners.

Specifically, the exercises are being carried out in the vicinity of Schenectady, and the surrounding counties of Albany and Saratoga.

According to reports, the exercise is meant to simulate the effects of a radiological attack, where response personnel will practice "protecting public health and safety, providing emergency relief to affected populations, and restoring essential services."

"The exercise is an opportunity for participating entities to practice and enhance operational readiness to respond in the event of a nuclear incident in the United States or overseas," according to the Bureau.

The FBI has issued a press release assuring that the nuclear incident training exercise will not "pose any risk to area residents."

The Bureau added that "the public does not need to be alarmed by training-related activity, including the presence of military personnel and aircraft, and people in protective equipment."

According to the press release, the exercise is "part of a series of regularly scheduled U.S. government biannual exercises. Similar trainings have been conducted in various regions across the United States since 2012."

"The general areas in which the training exercise will take place include areas around Albany Airport to Stratton Air National Guard Base to northern Saratoga County," the notice from the FBI read.

"Several local and state law enforcement, fire, emergency management, and public health agencies will also be participating in the training, including the New York State Police, Albany, Saratoga, and Schenectady County Sheriff’s Offices and the Albany Police Department," the press release added.

"Exercise participants will conduct operations in personal protective equipment to simulate realistic conditions. It will also include aircraft from federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies," the FBI press release further stated.

It has been mentioned by the Bureau that the training activities are not open to the public or media due to the "sensitive nature of the capabilities being implemented."

It is worth noting that the nuclear incident training exercise came a week after vocal supporters of Vladimir Putin urged the Russian autocrat to nuke London in response to President Donald Trump's ultimatum to Russia regarding the Ukraine war.

Pro-Kremlin Member of Parliament Andrey Gurulev said in a televised statement that Putin should carry out the first nuclear bomb test in 35 years on the Arctic archipelago Novaya Zemlya in order to showcase Russia's nuclear capabilities in response to Trump's threat.

"Look at what Trump is doing... He appears not as president of the United States, but as the master of the world. Is he threatening us or what?... Maybe our president should get an account on X, and respond... And the best answer would be to stage good nuclear explosions on Novaya Zemlya, frankly," Gurulev was quoted as saying.

Noted Russian TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov responded, saying, "Why should Novaya Zemlya be tortured? Rather than London?... [The British] will think it's just fireworks."

However, FBI Albany Public Affairs Officer Sarah Ruane clarified that the nuclear incident exercises are not due to any recent or ongoing world events.

"This is an exercise of the National Technical Nuclear Forensics Ground Collection Task Force, which would support the investigation of a nuclear incident... The Task Force mission is to collect nuclear debris samples for analysis at the national laboratories," Ruane explained.
