Catholic Church Officially Prohibits Members from Joining Freemasons

The Vatican has confirmed a ban on Catholics becoming Freemasons, a secretive society that the Catholic Church has long viewed with hostility. 

Freemasonry has an estimated global membership of up to six million. 

The Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith stated that being a Mason is forbidden due to the irreconcilability between Catholic doctrine and Freemasonry.
