This year, celebrities adopted a new neutral manicure that's edgier than the beiges of years past, with the black nail polish trend. Stars have been wearing the hue to award shows, red carpet appearances, and at home, making the color more popular than ever.
Manicurist and brand owner Jin Soon Choi previously told POPSUGAR that we should expect to see more of the hue. "When you want to evoke power, black fits the bill — especially with a high-gloss finish," she said. "I predict growing popularity of black shades this Fall, bolstered by it being the ultimate gender-free nail polish shade. It's very hip and high fashion, so it works in any context in which you feel bold, confident, and in control."
The color adds a bold touch to any beauty look without clashing with outfits changes, and is also super versatile. The proof? While some celebrities wore the shade on its own, others like Rihanna used it to experiment with nail art, while Dua Lipa used it as the tip of her french manicure.
