Chloé Zhao's Pigtail Braids and No-Makeup Look at the Oscars Are the Definition of Chill

Chloé Zhao kept things super casual for Hollywood's most glamorous night. The Nomadland director has a big night ahead of her at the 2021 Oscars — she's nominated for four awards, including best director — and we're envious of all the chill vibes she brought to the red carpet.

For the big ceremony, Zhao kept things super casual wearing a beige, ankle-length gown that she paired with all-white sneakers. She wore her hair in two French braids and even appeared to have foregone makeup for the night. We know seeing celebrities without makeup isn't a new thing, but seeing it happen at an awards ceremony that's often celebrated for its over-the-top glamour is actually really refreshing.
