For as long as I can remember, my skin has a been a turbulent rollercoaster of hormonal acne and nerve-racking skincare trials. I'm always terrified to try new products because I'm afraid they'll break me out, especially moisturizers. That's why when I finally found a serum that was moisturizing enough to use daily, I was totally relieved. I simply can't live without the Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum ($48), but it wasn't the end of my issues.
I have combination skin, and pretty much every day I'm superoily but get dry patches in certain areas, especially in Winter. The past year, it's been worse than ever. I knew I was in a need of a stronger moisturizing cream, but those consistencies often break me out, so I was too scared to try anything. Eventually, I gave this Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer ($68) a go since the brand doesn't seem to bother my easily irritated skin — plus, it had great reviews on Sephora's website.
The second my fingertips touched it, I knew it would work. The lightweight cream didn't feel thick or heavy. It instantly soaked into my skin without feeling like I had a greasy layer left over. The protein-packed moisturizer is like a refreshing shot of water for your face. I have two ways I like to use it. First, if I'm just having a random dry patch around my mouth or on my forehead, I use it kind of like a spot treatment, just on that area. Secondly, if I feel like my skin is in good condition, but could use a little pick-me-up of hydration, I mix it in with a small amount with my daily serum.
So if your skin is dried out from the cold Winter weather, what are you waiting for? It's time to give this bestselling choice a try — you won't regret it. Keep reading to shop it and few other options.
