What We Know About Brett Goldstein's Quiet Dating Life

Brett Goldstein launched his onscreen career in 2005 with the film "Wish You Were Here," but in recent years, he's become a household name for his role as veteran footballer and assistant AFC Richmond coach Roy Kent in the acclaimed Apple TV+ series "Ted Lasso." Since his first acting role, Goldstein has appeared in several films, TV series, and even solo stand-up shows, with credits that include "Thor: Love and Thunder," "Doctor Who," "Robot Chicken," and "Harley Quinn."

When he isn't in front of the camera, Goldstein keeps his personal life out of the spotlight, which also applies to the people he dates. In terms of his dating life, the actor's only public relationship has been with fellow actor Beth Rylance. Outside of his relationship with Rylance, Goldstein appears to currently be single and focused on upcoming projects.

If you're looking forward to seeing Goldstein return as Roy Kent in the third season of "Ted Lasso," which hit Apple TV+ on March 15, read on to learn more about Goldstein's love life and his relationship with Rylance.

Beth Rylance (2021-2022)

It's unclear exactly when Goldstein and Rylance started dating, as the couple kept their relationship very private. However, the two appeared to have quarantined during the COVID-19 pandemic together and even filmed an amateur parody of "Love Island" in March 2020. Over a year later, in September 2021, their relationship was confirmed when the "Ted Lasso" actor thanked Rylance during his acceptance speech at the Emmy Awards. "I was very, very specifically told I'm not allowed to swear, so this speech is going to be f*cking short . . . Beth, I love you," Goldstein exclaimed on stage.

Over the next year, the two would occasionally pop up on each other's socials, but they mainly kept their relationship under wraps. By August 2022, however, The Mirror reported that the pair had not only unfollowed each other on social media, but they had also broken up, with speculation that the relationship ended as early as April of that year. The reason for the split? Work obligations for both of them. A source close to the actor told The Sun (via The Mirror), "They're both in exciting times in their careers and really busy and they just couldn't make it work."
