How the Original Cast of Charmed REALLY Feels About the Reboot
Charmed is getting rebooted, but not everyone is happy about it. Since The CW announced it was picking up the series, the reaction has been pretty mixed — but it's not just loyal fans of the 1998 series who are wary. Some of the original cast members have voiced their opinions about the revival as well. While Shannen Doherty (who played Prue Halliwell) has chosen to keep an open mind about the series, Holly Marie Combs (Piper Halliwell) has made it incredibly clear that she is against it. As we wait for the reboot to premiere, see what the original cast has already said ahead.

Holly Marie Combs (Piper Halliwell)
- On rebooting the show without the original cast: "Here's the thing. Until you ask us to rewrite it like Brad Kern did weekly don't even think of capitalizing on our hard work. Charmed belongs to the 4 of us, our vast amount of writers, crews and predominantly the fans. FYI you will not fool them by owning a title/stamp. So bye."
- On the reboot's new premise: "I have no words . . . I mean I have a lot of words but at this juncture . . . sure . . . yeah . . . We Wish Them Well . . ."
- On how the sisters' names start with "M" just like Stillman sisters: "3 sister witches hmmm all names start with M's hmmmmm nooooooo . . . WAIT A MINUTE . . . @JennyMcCarthy SUE THEM."
- On how she hopes the reboot honors the show's legacy: "Let me say first that I appreciate the jobs and opportunities the Charmed reboot has created. But I will never understand what is fierce, funny, or feminist in creating a show that basically says the original actresses are too old to do a job they did 12 years ago. I hope the new show is far better than the marketing so the true legacy does remain."

Shannen Doherty (Prue Halliwell)
- On having a new generation of Charmed fans: "I'm intrigued by the idea that a new generation might be comforted, inspired like all you were. Charmed helped us all in some way."
- On how the reboot will create more roles for women: "Exactly. More great roles for women. That's a huge plus."
- On marketing the series as a "feminist reboot": "Their wording is terrible and a bit offensive. But, everyone makes mistakes. Perhaps with the backlash they will be more thoughtful in future."
- On respecting the legacy of the show: "I love Charmed. I also want it to be respected. I'm simply choosing to be constructive about it because negativity has no place in my life."

Alyssa Milano (Phoebe Halliwell)
- On the way the reboot was executed: "I wish that they would have come to us and we would have been involved since the beginning. But having said that, I do hope that it reaches the newer generation and impacts that generation the way ours was able to do for its generation."
- On if she'll make a cameo in the reboot: "I don't think so. I think that that ship has sailed for me."
