Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett's "Start of Something New" Cover Is My New Favorite HSM Song

Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett have been making us swoon with their beautiful voices on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and their latest cover is giving Gabriella and Troy a run for their money. On Dec. 13, Disney shared a video of the costars performing the hit High School Musical song "Start of Something New." Unlike the original, Rodrigo and Bassett's cover is completely stripped down with just a few instruments backing them up. While the pair's onscreen chemistry is undeniable, it's their incredible vocals that are really giving us chills. In fact, I might go as far as saying it's better than the original.

In addition to sharing the screen together, Rodrigo and Bassett, who play exes Nini and Ricky on the series, also cowrote a song for HSMTMTS. Get ready to be amazed by their talent as you watch their performance above.
