Watch Olivia Rodrigo's Heartbreakingly Beautiful "River" Cover For HSMTMTS Special

The stars of Disney+'s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series are gifting us with so many incredible performances for their upcoming holiday special. Ahead of the release on Dec. 11, Disney shared Olivia Rodrigo's performance of "River" by Joni Mitchell. Just like the iconic sad Christmas song, Rodrigo's version is heartbreakingly beautiful as she plays the piano and sings along to the melody. Seriously, her voice is so angelic! Fun fact: she actually filmed the number at the Bachelor mansion.

"It was such an honor to get to sing 'River,'" Rodrigo told POPSUGAR. "It's a song that I absolutely love. It's a songwriter that I absolutely adore and look up to so much. It's a sad Christmas song — I love sad songs, I'm a ballad girl — and it was cool to put a little holiday twist on that." Watch her number above before the full special airs on Disney+ on Dec. 11.
