SNL's "Deleted Scenes" From Frozen 2 Venture Way Into the Unknown
While Disney's Frozen 2 is breaking box-office records, Saturday Night Live is giving viewers a whole different outlook on the adventure film. On Feb. 1, SNL castmates Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong transformed into sister duo Elsa and Anna while Kyle Mooney and NFL player J.J. Watt took on the roles of Olaf and Kristoff.
Instead of sticking to the traditional kid-friendly storyline, the beloved characters discuss a few taboo topics in the so-called "deleted scenes." How so? Well, first, Elsa reveals that she's gay, telling Anna, "You have a fulfilling heterosexual marriage at the age of 18, and I just spent two whole movies playing with snow." (Points are made.)
The sketch goes on to describe Kristoff as "big and woke" before addressing Frozen's lack of diversity by making Kenan Thompson the only Black lieutenant in the royal guard. Not even Olaf is safe from satire, as he boasts a new, erm, developed body with a provocative carrot. Watch the skit above, but remember, this isn't PG!
