7 Current Shows to Watch If You Still Miss The Office

Even though The Officehas been off the air since 2013, it still remains a fan favorite. It's rare to find a show that has many well-developed characters that is also smart, touching, and funny. If you're still reeling from the loss of The Office, then consider watching some of these shows. Brooklyn Nine-Nine
If the Fox comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine feels like The Office, there's a pretty good reason why. Cocreated by Michael Schur, who was a writer and producer of The Office, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is just as funny as everyone's favorite show about a paper company.
The show follows detectives, most of whom are exceptionally good at their jobs, in a precinct in Brooklyn as they solve crimes and get into zany situations. While Andy Samberg and Stephanie Beatriz are heralded as the stars, this is truly a phenomenal ensemble cast that excels together.

The Good Place
Another Michael Schur creation, NBC sitcom The Good Placestars Kristin Bell and Ted Danson. After waking up in an idyllic the afterlife, Eleanor (Bell) recognizes that her placement must have been a mistake and thus must hide her true self. Another superb ensemble cast, The Good Place has more twists and turns than can be documented here, and each episode feels fresh.

Master of None
Executive produced by, you guessed it, Michael Schur and created by Parks and Recreation alum Aziz Ansari, Master of None is one of the best comedies to come out of Netflix. Ansari, who stars as aspiring actor Dev, is phenomenal creating true-to-life characters that feel like people you actually know. Funny, touching, and smart, it's no wonder this show continues to win awards and be a critical darling.

Curb Your Enthusiasm
An oldie but a goodie, Curb Your Enthusiasm, returned to HBO in 2017. One of the joys of The Office was watching favorite characters get placed into awkward situations. Curb's writers are excellent at making characters feel uncomfortable and, consequently, the audience as well. Still rich in humor, the new season balances the awkwardness with laugh-out-loud humor.

Catastrophe
Fans of the original British The Office will probably be charmed by Catastrophe, which originally aired on Channel 4 and is available in the US on Amazon. Catastrophe follows American Rob (Rob Delaney) and Irish Sharon (Sharon Horgan) who deal with the consequences of a brief sexual encounter while he's in the UK on business. Funny and quick-witted, this touching show is like what would have happened if Jim and Pam had met under different circumstances and got knocked up.

Silicon Valley
HBO's Silicon Valley is a workplace comedy for the modern age of technology. It follows the misadventures of computer programmer Richard (Thomas Middleditch) and his band of equally socially inept counterparts as they try to successfully launch their tech business. Kumail Nanjiani, The Big Sick creator, and The Office alum Zach Woods help round out this superb ensemble cast.

Superstore
One of the best workplace comedies, dare I say ever, Superstore has emerged as a bright spot in the comedy lineup. The NBC comedy follows Amy, deftly played by Ugly Betty alum America Ferrera, as she interacts with her megastore coworkers. While there's plenty of Michael Scott in Glenn (Mark McKinney), her manager, what this show excels at is finding the humor in everyday situations, just like The Office was so good at doing.
