The X-Files: David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, and the Whole Cast

While we already knew Mulder and Scully would return for the X-Files revival, more casting news creeped in while filming was underway. In addition to a few familiar faces, Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose also joined the cast. Creators aren't keeping their roles undercover, either. We already know their character names! This might just be the tip of the iceberg in terms of who will appear on the six-part limited series, but only time will tell. David Duchovny as Fox Mulder

Duchovny was one of the first to sign on to reprise his role. Without him, who knows if it would even be happening at all?

Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully

Anderson was also signed onto the project from the day it was confirmed.

Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner

Duchovny appeared on Late Show With David Letterman and announced Pileggi would return.

William B. Davis as the Cigarette Smoking Man

In the same interview, Duchovny mentioned the Cigarette Smoking Man would return as well.

Joel McHale as Tad O'Malley

The Community star has joined the show as a guest star. He'll play Tad O'Malley, the conservative anchor of an online news network.

Lauren Ambrose as Agent Einstein

Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) will appear on one episode as the "sharp" and "confident" Agent Einstein.

Robbie Amell as Agent Miller

Meanwhile, the CW star will portray the "smooth" and "smart" Agent Miller.

Kumail Nanjiani

Silicon Valley's Nanjiani will appear on an episode in an undisclosed role. Not only is he a superfan, but he also hosts a podcast called The X-Files Files.

Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund, and Bruce Harwood as The Lone Gunman

The original Lone Gunman will reprise their roles.

Annabeth Gish as Monica Reyes

Gish is returning as her character, Monica Reyes.

Michael McKean as Morris Fletcher

McKean will reprise his role as Morris Fletcher.
