Naomi Osaka Wants Her Barbie to "Remind Young Girls That They Can Make a Difference in the World"

Professional tennis player and mental health advocateNaomi Osaka is the latest to get a Barbie Role Model doll in her likeness! Featuring Naomi's Yonex tennis racket and a Nike outfit she wore at the 2020 Australian Open, the doll is ready to serve serious game just like the four-time Grand Slam singles champion.

However, this isn't the first time the athlete and human-rights activist has been spotlighted by Barbie. In honor of International Women's Day and Barbie's 60th anniversary in 2019, Naomi was recognized as a role model with her very own Barbie Shero doll alongside actress Yara Shahidi and other inspiring women around the world.

"It's such an honor to be a part of the Barbie Role Model series, and to remind young girls that they can make a difference in the world," Naomi, who will be competing in her first Olympics for Japan this month, said in a press release. "I want young girls everywhere to feel empowered to dream big and to know that if they believe in themselves that anything is possible!"
