This Elementary School Teacher Gave Her Students the 1 Thing All Kids Need

One anonymous teacher did more than just welcome students on the first day of school; they set a tone of acceptance and support from the moment kids walked in.

As a powerful way to inspire children from the start, the Australian teacher made goodie bags for all of the year four students (kids ages 8 and 9), which each came with a meaningful note. The letter, which was shared on Bowen State School's Facebook page, explained the motivating meaning behind each treat in the bag.

"The eraser is to remind you that it is OK to make mistakes. We'll work and learn together, no matter what it takes," the note read. "The stickers mean we'll stick together and work hard as a team. . . . The bookmark is to show you that you always have a place. If you ever feel a little lost, we'll help you find your space." Kids also received a puzzle to show how the class fits together and is working towards a common theme, as well as Smarties candies to remind them how smart their teacher thinks they are.

Although this teacher's identity isn't publicly known, it's clear that these kiddos are incredibly lucky to be taught by such a thoughtful and welcoming individual.
