First she gave us major date-night inspiration in an electric-green dress, and now Amal Clooney's showing off the perfect workwear. The lawyer and activist stepped out in New York wearing a tweed Dolce & Gabbana coat dress that was prim, polished, and — our favorite quality — totally effortless.

Amal's simple outfit reminded us of something Kate Middleton would throw together/> for a public appearance. "Aha!" we thought to ourselves. It only takes one well-tailored design to appear completely elegant like Amal and Kate. And while the duchess might complete her sophisticated looks with a matching hat and neutral clutch, Amal showed a hint of her quirky style with the addition of two-tone metallic pumps and a tan Ralph Lauren satchel.
