The Mad Men Cast Left '60s Style Behind at the Black and Red Ball

Although they may be intimidated by Don Draper in the office, on the red carpet, the entire cast of Mad Men battles for the spotlight. At last night's premiere event, Jon Hamm looked elegant in a champagne tux jacket and black bow tie, and Kiernan Shipka and January Jones opted for sparkle in playful dresses that promised each look would be better than the next.

But then Christina Hendricks swept through in a satin Zac Posen ball gown that took our breath away. Though she didn't play by the rules, opting to wear teal instead of the evening's requested colors, we think a feisty Joan Harris would be proud of her style move. Especially since her full butterfly-print skirt was detachable, revealing a figure-flattering column that the actress played up with diamond jewels.

In typical Roger fashion, John Slattery vied for the spotlight. The actor used his glasses to make a statement on the red carpet.

Kiernan Shipka's black strapless A-line silhouette was perfectly playful. When it came to her accessories, she stuck to the same vibe, slipping into embellished silver heels and carrying a matching box clutch.

Mason Vale Cotton was absolutely adorable in his cranberry velour suit jacket and bow tie. With a look like this, there's no denying that Bobby will make all the girls swoon in no time, just like Don.

Christina Hendricks showed up to the red carpet wearing a gorgeous teal Zac Posen ball gown that cinched her at the waist and exploded into a full skirt complete with tiny black butterflies.

Later on, Christina ditched her skirt to reveal a form-flattering column gown, which was every bit as striking without the extra folds of fabric.

She played up her Zac Posen statement dress with eye-catching diamonds, Victoria Stuart Weitzman platforms, and a swipe of red lipstick.

January Jones chose a pre-Fall 2015 Prabal Gurung dress, elevating the evening's black and red dress code to another level with her boxy embellished bodice and the floral appliqué detail on her skirt.

Christopher Stanley looked sleek in his midnight tux, playing up his ensemble with a silk bow tie.

Robert Morse chose a black and white look, following the evening's theme with a simple bow tie and completing his look with — yep, you guessed it — a pair of sleek shoes! Sorry, Bert Cooper.

Stephanie Drake chose an ethereal black dress with cap sleeves, sheer detail, and intricate floral appliqué.
