Build Strength and Confidence With This 10-Minute Low-Impact Cardio Workout
In this 10-minute low impact workout presented by Athleta, M/Body founderMarnie Alton delivers joyful movement. Through a series of barre-inspired exercises, you'll build strength, stamina, and coordination.
The warmup includes a series of shakes to allow you to present in your body. This is a time to release and begin to feel renewed. Alton will encourage you to bring movement into your arms and abs to wake up those areas. Next, you'll move into squat variations that can include knee lifts and kicks.
A key theme of this workout is belonging through movement. With that in mind, Alton is joined by class members Tiff Marie who demonstrates beginner modifications and Poofy Moffitino who brings you higher intensity options. This workout will meet you where you are — no matter the expert level. As Alton says, when the workouts starts to get more challenging, "you have the option to take it at a different pace. You have the option to do most of the moves, not all of the moves, whatever empower you. Athleta is all about empowerment and we're doing that here."
The side-lunge series will work your core and you may noticed through these
unilateral movements your balance is different on each leg. Even Alton's stability is tested and she reminds you, "if you wiggle during the balance moves, it just means your stabilizing muscles are working." You may even take lead from class member, Marie and go-all out on the moves that will have you "feeling like you're performing."
