While most people probably know Forme as Taylor Swift's go-to sports bra brand, the company introduced its activewear to the market in 2019 and has been providing top athletes and professional sports teams around the world with posture-correcting wearables since then. While Swift was spotted rehearsing for her Eras Tour in the Power Bra, as featured in Time, the brand confirms she owns multiple colors of that model as well as the Revive Bra — all purchased organically by her team. To no one's surprise, both styles quickly went out of stock with several months' worth of inventory selling through in a matter of weeks. "We had to accelerate production and strengthen our supply chain capabilities to keep up with the sustained demand and heightened brand awareness," co-founder and COO Seiji Liu says.

And while Swift's performance stamina is nothing to scoff at, the fact that NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, and MLS players, as well as Olympians, equestrians, and F1 drivers are all wearing Forme is proof enough that this fitness gear is top-notch. Liu, who is an orthopedic surgeon, engineered the line to help his mother battle poor posture and compressed lungs from cancer, using wire- and sensor-free patented materials that engage muscle memory for biofeedback and instant proprioception. In other words, this clothing is equipped with tech that keeps your back straight, reduces pain and stiffness, and propels you to maximum physical function.

Naturally, I had to test out the full set for a run to get a sense of the magic firsthand. Ahead, I deliver my full review of the Forme Power Bra ($178), Forme Sculpt+ Legging ($118), Forme Core V-Neck ($178), and Forme Ankle Guard Sock ($35), all of which I wore simultaneously for a one-hour run/walk to determine the benefits.

About the Forme Workout Set

  • Forme's FDA-registered posture correcting wearables are meant to engage muscle memory to transform the wearer's alignment, decrease neck tension, increase spine extension, and increase chest expansion for better breathing.
  • All items are made with sustainably-sourced and organic fabric with production in the USA.
  • The Forme Power Bra and Core Tee have been Forme's bestselling hero products since inception, according to Liu.
  • The Power Bra has mesh inserts at the back and is engineered with patented technology consisting of six varied tension fabrics and eight powerful double-fabric panels; it's available in seven colorways.
  • The Sculpt+ Legging, available in seven colors, has a multi-panel, high-rise waistband made to boost muscle memory in the core, glutes, and spine.
  • The Core V-Neck, available in black or white, is made with soft, eco-friendly Tencel with a stronger pull that keeps your shoulders back and down, opening your diaphragm.
  • The Ankle Guard Sock, available in black or white, is packed with compression and relieves stress on small joints, with extra proprioceptive training to prevent ankle roll or inversion.
  • Most Forme products are available in sizes XS-XXL.
  • Returns and exchanges are only available for orders shipped within the US and must be initiated within 21 days of the order payment date, with some items listed as final sale and excluded.
  • All Forme products should be washed in cold water on a gentle cycle and hung to dry — avoid fabric softener and bleach as they can inhibit the moisture-wicking and UV protective qualities.

What I Like About the Forme Workout Set

I can't even begin to describe how impressed I was by the effectiveness of the Forme Power Bra, Core Tee, and Sculpt+ Leggings. As someone who has been running for 12 years, I can confidently say there is no other fitness gear on the market (that I've tried, anyway) that makes such a significant difference in my posture — and so quickly! I slowed down a video of my stride above for proof. In slow motion, you can see just how much my pelvis is tucked (that's what coaches and instructors mean when they say, "Take your butt with you," when running), and how my back looks straight as a board with my head and neck tilted up instead of hanging sluggishly. Not only that, the compressive fabric keeps me alert and energized, and it feels great to take off, too. Somehow, I feel even more toned at the end of my run.

I can also feel the socks working their magic with every step, activating the arch muscles to realign the midfoot position and establish stability. Liu even shared that Dr. Martin O'Malley, MD, Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Chief of Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery, wears them daily and recommends them to many of the athletes he works with. And that's nothing to scoff at — Dr. O'Malley is the team orthopedic surgeon for the Brooklyn Nets and Team USA basketball, the foot and ankle lead for the NY Giants, and the surgeon behind Tiger Woods's total ankle surgery.

What to Consider Before Buying the Forme Workout Set

The first thing to note is that the price point for Forme's activewear is on the higher side, but I can speak to the quality and promise that investing in your posture as an athlete is worth it. While I've tried other corrective apparel, nothing comes close to Forme. Unfortunately, I did miss the note about the Core V-Neck tee running a bit small and felt tightness with residual redness and irritation in the armpit area after my run. To avoid this, you can either size up or stretch the shirt's armholes 10-20 times before putting it on — and same goes for the bra. If you're like me (and some of the shoppers who left reviews on Forme's site) and prefer leggings with pockets, the company has yet to introduce a silhouette with that convenient detail — but I have an inkling that's not far off given the brand's growing success.
