I Ate 11 Different Pies in 1 Sitting and Lived to Tell the Tale

When you think of Fall, what's the first dish that comes to mind? For me, it's pie. If you sat me down at a table with every type of pie ever created, chances are I'd devour each one. So you can image my delight when I received an invitation to Pie Night at Dominique Ansel Kitchen in NYC. From savory to sweet, the assortment of dreamy pies served up that night convinced me that Chef Dominique is some culinary mind reader. Guests were even sent home with a cup of hot apple cider. Talk about the perfect autumnal feast.
While the unique selection of pies isn't available in the shop, all 11 are available for preorder online and can be picked up in store this weekend only. Keep reading for a look at the menu and a glimpse of my favorites.

Dark Meat Chicken Pot Pie With Pork Belly
I'm a sucker for chicken pot pie, and this one is completely off the charts. The flaky crust leaves perfectly balanced the creamy richness of the filling. Definitely my favorite savory pie of all time.

Key Lime Pie With Coconut Milk Whipped Meringue
Key lime is by far my favorite type of sweet pie. Some people may find it a bit too tart, but I can't get enough. The whipped meringue mountains scattered on top balanced out the flavor perfectly.

Heirloom Tomato Tart With Fresh Ricotta
I expected this tart to be somewhat heavy with the filling completely made of ricotta cheese, but it was surprisingly light and refreshing. Not to mention, it's gorgeous.

Silk Chocolate Ombré Pie With Mascarpone Whipped Cream
Chocolate gets me every time, and this ombré chocolate pie was everything you'd want in a dessert. Fresh mascarpone was a pleasant departure from the average whipped cream, and the silky filling was the dreamiest mousse I've ever had.

Salted Caramel Apple Pie
I want this pie on my Thanksgiving table. Somehow, some way, I'll make it happen. It was tart from the apples yet sweet and salty from the caramel. The sprinkle of powdered sugar put it over the edge.

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie With Vanilla Daisy Cookies
This pie was probably the most beautifully presented pie I've ever eaten. It was somewhat of an ode to the final days of Summer with its delicate daisies and bright, fruity flavor.
