If your TikTok "For You" page has become a never-ending stream of pomegranate seeds, mixed berries, and coconut water over the past week, you're definitely not alone. Lizzo recently introduced us to TikTok user @natures_food's "Nature Cereal" recipe, and her high praise of the all-natural "cereal" — which calls for pomegranate seeds and berries to be doused in coconut water and eaten by the spoonful like cereal — sent millions of TikTok users scrambling to the produce aisle to see if the dish truly lived up to its hype. Naturally, we had to try it for ourselves, and we were pleasantly shocked to learn that it not only lives up to the hype, but it surpasses it.
As Lizzo says in her review of the plant-based cereal, the coconut water slurped in conjunction with the crunchy pomegranate seed creates a seemingly creamy flavor profile. She also likes to add in a few ice cubes, which we found keeps the coconut water refreshingly cold during consumption. Overall, the combination of the crunchy pomegranate seeds, sweet berries, and slightly creamy coconut water is satisfying, to say the least, and we're so glad that it's now on our radar.
Here is the original recipe posted by @natures_food:
And this is how Lizzo enjoys hers:
We decided to try our pomegranate cereal with blueberries and strawberries, but you can add any combination of berries you'd like. We also tried it with ice cubes as suggested by Lizzo, which we highly recommend for an even more refreshing mouthful.
