Prickly pear is an interesting and very underused flavor. They're not actually pears, but they are the fruit on a cactus that are sweet and taste a little bit like watermelon and strawberry with a hint of something all their own. Prickly pear syrup, which I used in this prickly pear margarita, is exactly what it sounds like: the liquid from the fruit. As a sweet, fruity flavor, it blends well with margarita ingredients for a new take on a cocktail you may already know and love. Plus, it's so pretty and pink! Swap out whatever fruit you might normally use and try prickly pear syrup next time.

It's also so simple to make this prickly pear margarita. Once you've located prickly pear syrup (you can find it on Amazon), add it in to your staple margarita ingredients. I opted to use sugar to rim my margarita glass because I've never been a fan of the salt rim and I love my cocktails as sweet as can be, but you can definitely use salt if you prefer. You could also throw all the margarita ingredients into a blender and make a blended margarita! Check out the recipe below, and try this fruity margarita on a hot summer day.
