Continuing his string of late-night appearances following the presidential election, Bernie Sanders sat down with Conan O'Brien to talk about Donald Trump's latest tweets and concerning proposals.

In the clip, Sanders responded to the president-elect's tweet suggesting that many of Hillary Clinton's votes were due to "millions of people who voted illegally." Sanders claimed that not only are Trump's thoughts about the election results "delusional," but they're scary, too.

"First of all, it's delusional. It's totally insane. Nobody believes that who studies elections or election patterns," said Sanders. "Number two — this is what is scary about it — when he says that, he's really sending a signal to Republicans all over this country." He continued: "What he's saying is, we have got to suppress the vote. We have got to make it harder for poor people, people of color, immigrants, [and] elderly people to participate because they may be voting against us. That's scary stuff."

Sanders then addressed Trump's tweet about people who burn the American flag and how they should be punished with jail time or loss of citizenship. After noting that Trump should be concerned with more pressing issues facing our country, the Vermont Senator said that by suggesting punishment for flag burning, Trump is really implying a suppression of dissent and government protest.

"There's a hidden message in that, and that is, be careful if you are prepared to dissent," said Sanders. "The Supreme Court has said that is within the constitutional framework . . . That is a form of expression. What he's really saying is, 'If you want to really dissent, be careful. It's not just the American flag here, we're watching you.'"
