Meghan Markle's As Ever Collection Has Arrived — Here's What a Dietitian Thinks
Meghan Markle has an eye for detail. In the new Netflix show "With Love, Meghan" she flexes both her cooking and hostessing skills, revealing her secrets to making friends feel at home in her gorgeous California estate. Whether she's handpicking a bouquet of fluffy peonies, harvesting her own honey, or sprinkling edible flowers atop freshly glazed donuts, we get the sense that she knows how to make even the smallest moments special. With each episode, we get a further peek into Markle's carefully curated life, but now we want to know how to emulate this coastal cottagecore aesthetic ourselves.
Perhaps anticipating that viewers would feel inspired to elevate their own dishes, Markle recently launched her debut product line "As Ever" — and it's already completely sold out. The collection features key items that lend themselves to cooking and hostessing, including teas, fruit spreads, honey, edible flowers, and baking mixes. But with products flying off the shelves, which ones are actually worth the wait?
To find out more, we asked a registered dietitian to weigh in on the As Ever line. Read on to get their initial impressions, specific recommendations, and potential safety concerns, so you can shop smarter when the collection restocks.

Flower Sprinkles
One of the stars of the As Ever collection are the edible flowers. They're stunning to look at — but are they safe to eat? "Edible flowers are having a moment thanks to their high content of antioxidants (especially polyphenols), vitamins, and minerals," explains Canada-based dietitian Sarah Glinski, RD. "In general, they're safe to consume, provided they're not a flower that produces compounds that are toxic to humans." The main risk involves flowers that aren't made to be eaten, as these may be treated with herbicides or pesticides.
While As Ever did not immediately respond to PS's request for comment regarding how its edible flower sprinkles are produced, the good news is — because you're only consuming the flowers in small quantities (i.e. as flower sprinkles) — they shouldn't cause you any major issues. "The fact that you're only eating a very small amount of them means these issues likely aren't something to worry too much about," Glinski confirms. "I would not be concerned about adding a sprinkle of them to my food." Plus, they make every recipe look like it was pulled straight from your Pinterest board.
Teas
The As Ever collection launched with three different herbal teas: peppermint, hibiscus, and lemon ginger. "I love all three teas in the As Ever Collection, as each has a unique effect on health," Glinski says. Here's what to know about each:
- Peppermint: Glinski says this is a great choice for alleviating abdominal pain and IBS symptoms. However, she notes that peppermint can also worsen acid reflux in some people, so if you're prone to heartburn, the other two teas might be safer bets for easing gut issues.
- Hibiscus: Research shows that hibiscus tea can significantly reduce blood pressure and lower levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol.
- Lemon Ginger: "Ginger tea has been used for centuries to soothe various GI issues, including nausea, indigestion, bloating, and abdominal pain," Glinski says. Ginger tea has also been shown to soothe IBS symptoms and flares, making it both a comforting and delicious choice.
Honeycomb
The honey from the As Ever collection has a chunk of actual honeycomb included in the jar. Impressive, right? But are there any benefits to using honey with actual honeycomb in it? Possibly. "Honeycomb is a complex structure that contains honey, royal jelly (a substance secreted by worker honeybees), pollen, propolis, and beeswax," Glinski says. Some research indicates that beeswax has antimicrobial properties, while propolis (a waxy, resinous substance) has antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that can help with gastrointestinal diseases. Propolis is also good for blood sugar control, and royal jelly can help with things like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes, Glinski says.
"However, not everyone should eat honeycomb," Glinski notes. You should avoid honeycomb if you're allergic to pollen or any similar bee products. The same goes for children under one year old, as eating honey could put them at risk for infant botulism ("a rare but serious illness caused by a type of bacteria sometimes found in honey," Glinski says).
The Bottom Line
Overall, while there are some important considerations to keep in mind, As Ever is a product line that offers high-quality aesthetics and several legit benefits. "This collection seems like a fun way to try new foods," Glinski says. "While the products are a bit pricey (for example, the teas all come in at $1 per serving), the packaging is cute and I think they'd make great gifts for the foodie in your life."
