Maren Morris’s Onstage Must Haves: $12 Lip Stain, Doc Martens, and More
As a foodie and deeply nostalgic person, few treats hit quite like a Dreamsicle. Just thinking about the sweet, citrusy treat sparks joy, almost as much as getting to chat with Grammy-winning country star Maren Morris. The 34-year-old is just days away from releasing her fourth studio album, named after the playful, throwback flavor combo.
"Dreamsicle" officially drops on May 9, just in time to become your spring-summer anthem. But that's hardly the only thing on her radar. Morris is also teaming up with White Claw for the return of Claw Sessions, a multi-city concert series that's basically a pregame for festival season. She'll kick things off on Thursday, April 10 at The Saguaro Palm Springs, with (if we had to guess based on our conversation) plenty of White Claw Black Cherries within arm's reach.
She's set to take the stage following opener and rising star Maude Latour, which feels like a full-circle moment for Morris. "Since the beginning of my career . . . artists that I admired and were so well-seasoned were giving me support — not just like, 'I love your song,' but taking me on tour," she says. "Keith Urban was the first person to ever bring me out on a major tour. Now that I'm a headliner, I can bring artists that excite me onto my stage and expose my fans to them. It really is that saying of paying it forward."
Reflecting on her early days — a phase Latour is navigating now — Morris says it was a meaningful crash course in how to stay grounded while everything's in motion. "Your body is constantly in survival mode . . . you feel like you have to say yes to everything. I would just say — while it's all happening, have some sort of constant. Whether that's your best friend or a book you love, just something to regulate your system."
Or maybe it's one of the everyday essentials she swears by, like the viral lip stain that lasts through both performances and dinners, or the belt bag that keeps her from misplacing everything she owns. Ahead, Morris shares the must haves she's loving right now with PS — and they might just become your new favorites, too.

Maren Morris's Affordable Must Have
Just like the rest of us, Morris "can't leave the house without lip liner." Her current obsession is the Sacheu Lip Liner Stay-N-Peel Off Lip Stains ($12), the same ones beauty-loving TikTokers can't stop raving about for their all-day (and night) wear. She loves applying them before heading onstage for a show, otherwise, her pout is destined to fade "by song three." And it's not just a fave for performing; Morris also applies it before dinner, because who has time for touch-ups while eating?
Pro Tip: Not so much a pro tip as a personal rec, but Morris's favorite Sacheu shades are MUAH-ve and nOOHde.

Maren Morris's Investment Must Have
"I used to be the kind of girl that could be onstage in a stiletto heel," Morris reflects. "But I've realized how much I love prioritizing movement onstage, not just staying at the microphone the whole show and nervously focusing only on the vocals. I love being able to freewheel, dance, and move around — and I can't do that in heels. So it's been a transition in my career, but now I'm all about comfy shoes with a little height, just so I can enjoy myself and get out of my head and into my body more.
When I work with my stylist Danny for performance looks, I'm like, 'Quit pulling heels,'" she laughs. One of her current footwear faves are Dr. Martens Women's 1460 Smooth Leather Boots ($170), a timeless classic with edge.
Pro Tip: It's all about balance! While Morris writes off wearing a heel for a long show, she does have her exceptions. "Maybe if it's for one song, sure. But a 90-minute to two hour show? Yeah. Absolutely not." The takeaway: Keep your heels for short, glam moments and opt for something comfy (but still cute) when you need to move. Your feet (and sanity) will thank you.

Maren Morris's Skin-Care Must Have
"I mean, it sounds really simple to throw this out there because it's such a household thing, but since my son's been born — he has really sensitive skin, and so do I — he's dealt with [dry] patches, and good old Vaseline has been the holy grail. Now, even I've gotten into it, and I slather every part of my body in it."
While the brand's OG healing jelly is an obvious favorite, she's especially obsessed with the Vaseline Intensive Care Unscented Advanced Repair Body Lotion ($21), which she deems "so good" for anyone with sensitive skin.
Pro Tip: Morris loves to apply the lotion to her elbows and knees to soften dry patches, but the brand recommends using it all over, daily. It's non-greasy and uses colloidal oatmeal and hydrating lipids to restore moisture in dry, sensitive skin.

Maren Morris's Beverage Must Have
Maybe it's a little obvious that White Claws ($23) are her adult beverage of choice given her partnership, but what's less obvious is her favorite flavor out of the gazillion options (OK, like 30, but let me be dramatic). "I've always kind of vacillated between the lime and black cherry," says Morris. "I think it just depends on the time of year. But yeah, I'll say now that the weather's getting warmer, I just love the black cherry flavor."
Pro Tip: The Texas native describes herself as "no muss, no fuss" when it comes to sipping her White Claw, as long as it's chilled. But she's also open to getting a little fancy with it: "I love a ready-to-drink, but I think we'll get creative at the show with some cocktail variations," she teases.

Maren Morris's Fashion Must Have
"I've become more of a minimalist as I've aged because I've left so many IDs, phones, and purses at venues — I just don't know where my head is half the time," says Morris, relatably. "So I'm like, the less stuff on me, the better. I just love a belt bag. Whether I'm on a nature walk or going to the bar, I love not having something slung over me."
She gives a shout-out to the viral Aritzia belt bags (tragically sold out), but we feel like the very chic Quince Leather Sling Bag ($70, originally $195) would also get her seal of approval.
Pro Tip: Prone to misplacing your stuff? Morris gets it. "If it's attached to me in a cuter version — a pack — I'll wear it, because otherwise, it's all getting left behind."
