8 New Netflix Original Movies You Seriously Can't Miss This August

Looking for a good excuse to stay inside and beat the heat this August? Lucky for you, Netflix has your back. The streaming service just released the titles of all the new films dropping in August, which include the highly anticipated third movie in the Kissing Booth franchise, a Jason Momoa-led action flick, a gender-swapped remake of She's All Thatstarring Addison Rae, and a thriller set in Greece with John David Washington, among others. With titles from Italy, Brazil, France, and here in the US, here's what you should know about these forthcoming Netflix originals before they debut this month.

The Swarm

What happens when a single mother decides to start breeding locusts as a high-protein food source, only to find out they have an appetite for blood? That's the premise of this French horror movie, and it's as freaky as it sounds.

Vivo

Featuring songs written and performed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, this sweet animated flick follows a kinkajou as he sets off on a journey to perform a love song for an old friend. With stars Gloria Estefan, Zoe Saldana, Juan de Marcos, and more, Vivo is certainly a film you don't want to miss.

The Kissing Booth 3

The final entry in the Kissing Booth trilogy follows Elle Evans during her final summer before college as she wavers between two tough choices: joining her boyfriend at Harvard or enrolling at Berkeley with her best friend (who also happens to be her boyfriend's brother).
